Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives in recent years, influencing how we communicate, share information, and even teach. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook have provided educators with powerful tools to engage with students and the wider community. However, as the boundaries between personal and professional life blur online, teachers must navigate this digital landscape with caution. One recent incident that highlights the complexities of social media use among educators is the case of a teacher who went viral for livestreaming her act of reprimanding her learners.

While the intention behind the teacher’s actions may have been to address behavioral issues in the classroom, the public backlash and scrutiny that followed underscore the importance of understanding the implications of social media use in education. In addition to the incident that was mentioned, there have been numerous other instances where educators have faced challenges related to their use of social media.
