VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur – The political clan Singson still dominates key political positions in Ilocos Sur after winning in their battles on Monday.
Incumbent Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Luis Singson was re-elected garnering 290,140 votes as against rival, Zuriel Zaragoza, who got 61,777, while Gov. Singson’s uncle, incumbent Vice Governor Jeremias Singson, retained his post getting 241,114 votes against 95,966 votes for Anicka Zaragoza, Zuriel’s sister.
Re-electionist Board Member Mika Singson Mendoza, Gov. Singson’s niece, topped the provincial board in the first district with her 108,448 votes; and reelectionist Board Member Jimboy Singson topped the provincial board position in the 2nd district with 152,734 votes.
While re-electionist Ilocos Sur 1st District representative Deogracias Victor Savellano, Gov. Singson’s father-in-law retained his post with his 76,165 votes and Kristine Singson- Meehan, Gov. Singson’s cousin, won the congressional seat in the 2nd District of Ilocos Sur with her 158,523 votes.
In Vigan City, re-electionist City Mayor Juan Carlo Singson- Medina, Gov. Singson’s nephew also retained his seat running unopposed.
Janine Carine S. Medina-Fariñas, Mayor Medina’s sister and John Patrick Singson, both retained their posts. Re-electionist City Mayor Ericson G. Singson, Gov. Singson’s distant cousin also retained his post in Candon City while lawyer Kristelle Singson ran unopposed as Candon City Vice Mayor and their uncle Alfonso Singson topped the city councilor race.
