Thief falls to death from Baguio hotel’s 6th floor

BAGUIO CITY (July 30, 2021)—A thief’s climbing skills ala Spiderman failed him after he fell to his death dawn Friday at a hotel he broke into along Kisad Road here.
The still unidentified male suspect, wearing a blue hooded jacket, black track suit and a face mask, slipped from the 6th floor of the Crown Legacy Hotel along Kisad Rd.
When the emergency and medical service (EMS) personnel and the police responded to a call from the hotel’s security, the body of the thief was found at the back of the hotel already stiff.
According to the securtiy guard, a male hotel guest was awakened by a noise coming from the window of his room. He even saw the thief hurriedly fleeing through the window, but slipped and fell.
The thief was still holding the bag he took from the hotel guest when found by authorities. The cash, cellphones and other items inside the bag were returned to the owner.
The cadaver was brought to the Baguio Memorial Chapel.
Authorities have reiterated their reminder to the public to be extra vigilant of their surroundings to prevent crimes and untoward incidents.
Residents were also urged to be cautious to avoid accidents as the torrential rains cause slippery roads and paths.
