P5.2M cannabis goes up in smoke In Kalinga village

La Trinidad, Benguet (July 30, 2021) – Policemen discovered two marijuana plantation sites within Brgy. Butbut Proper, Tinglayan, Kalinga on Thursday and immediately “sent it to smoke”. 
The marijuana worth PP5.2 million,  said Cordillera police chief Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee, were discovered on two locations— site 1 had 6,000 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) reaching P1,200,000.00, while site 2 had 20,000 FGMJP worth P4,000,000.00.
If summed, the two sites totalled to 2,600 square meters.
Investigators claimed they are into deep to find out who was taking care of the plantation to possibly sue him criminally.  
For numerous marijuana eradication operations in the highland region of late,  only one cultivator was so far cornered several weeks ago and charged criminally— a farmer in Atok, Benguet who tucked in his marijuana plants around his vegetable garden.
