Two cops tagged in murder, rape of minor and her cousin give up in Ilocos Sur town

BAGUIO CITY (July 8, 2021) – After more than a year, two cops accused of raping and killing a minor and sexually abusing her cousin surrendered to their colleagues at the San Juan, Ilocos Sur Wednesday afternoon.
Marawi Ubaldo Torda, 34, married and a resident of Barangay Lapting, San Juan and Randy Vintero Ramos, 37, and a resident of Barangay Cabanglutan, also in San Juan, both already dismissed from the national police,  will be held on trial.
Ramos will be facing rape charges with no recommended bail while Torda with act of lasciviousness with a recommended bail of P200,000.00.
The two were also slapped with murder with no recommended bail.
The duo were technically arrested via a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Homer Ragonhan of the Regional Trial Court Branch 24 of Cabugao after their surrender to their colleagues.  
On July 2, 2020, the minor was shot dead by a riding in tandem while on her way home after heading to the San Juan police to follow-up the rape complaint against Torda and Ramos. 
Earlier, the minor victim and her cousin, both living in nearby Cabugao town were arrested and brought to San Juan police station for violating the curfew rules after attending a birthday party in San Juan town on June 27, 2020.

The victim filed a complaint against the two policemen who allegedly raped her and sexually abused her cousin.
Ramos and Torda were pinpointed as the one who killed the minor victim.
