Two Died In Van-Truck Smash-up In La Union

BAGUIO CITY (June 3, 2021)— Two died after their freezer van collided with a truck along the national highway in Barangay Tubod, Sto. Tomas, La Union dawn Thursday.
The fatalities were identified as Ruiz Heartzell, 27, driver and his passenger Mauricio Barawel, 26, both from Quezon City.
The driver of the truck was identified as Arnold Busa of Surigao City.
Sto. Tomas town police said, the truck was heading South while the van was going North when van occupied the trucks lane, thus the smash-up.
The victims were rushed to the hospital but both were declared dead on arrival.
The freezer van was reportedly bound for Ilocos Norte while the truck was headed to Metro Manila.
