Unang FASC caravan ng PHA, inilunsad sa Baguio

LUNGSOD NG BAGUIO – Pinangunahan ng Philippine Heart Association Inc. (PHA) Baguio-Benguet Chapter ang paglulunsad ng FASC caravan sa Notre Dame de Chartres Hospital noong ika-9 at 10 ng Agosto.
Ang naturang caravan ay nagsusulong ng mga programa ng PHA na FITFIL Challenge, ABCD Screening, Sneakers Friday at CPR on Wheels & Wings na pangunahing humihikayat sa mga tao upang magkaroon ng malusog na katawan at pamumuhay.
Ang aktibidad ay isinagawa sa pakikipagtulungan ng pamahalaang lungsod at kapulisan.
Ang PHA-Baguio-Benguet Chapter ang unang pinili dahil naniniwala ang asosasyon na ang mga tao sa Baguio ay sanay na sa mga lakaran at ito ang isa sa pinakamabisang ehersisyo para sa mas malakas na buto, muscles at puso.
Itinuro sa FASC ang mga dapat gawin alinsunod sa PHA preventive cardiology advocacy na daily 52100 o ang “5 servings of fruits and vegetables, 2 hours maximum exposure to TV and recreational gadgets and not more than 2 grams of salt apportioned through a day’s meal, 1 hour physical activity, 0 sugary beverages and 0 smoking”.
Pinangunahan nina celebrity fitness Coaches Jim at Toni Saret ang FIL-FIT na ang layunin ay: one-million pound weight challenge.
Sa ibinahaging press statement ng PHA, sinabi ni Coach Jim na “there is an urgent need to combat the battle of the bulge. We can make Filipinos fitter and the Philippines well and healthier thru this advocacy which is in line with our healthy lifestyle battle cry—the 52100.”
Sa parehong statement, sinabi ni Dr. Raul Lapitan, “An offshoot of the 52100 is the Sneakers Friday campaign. As implied the namesake, it targets a weekly dress code compliance among institution staffers to be in casual footwear every Friday to encourage movement and, as much as possible, resort to taking stairs over the lifts or elevators.”
