Values of our youth

“Change” is the only permanent happening in a man’s life. Things change in a second of every minute which perhaps make our life either easy or difficult.
Filipino values are already endangered because of the various influences that engulf the thought and heart of our young.
Crimes and problems that we read and see through the different media that involve our youth are indications of losing the Filipino values we inherit from our fore fathers. Teenage pregnancy, respect of adults and diminishing hard work are examples of problems faced by our youth.
Teachers encounter problem in all age levels. School personnel thought of conducting parenting seminar to encourage parents to monitor and guide their children or ward but often, the grandmother or guardians are the participants. Young parents are busy in their work or cannot stand to sit for an hour to listen to the lectures. Modernization and computer age wouldn’t be blamed if strong adherence of proper laws is implemented and adults constantly guide the young.
Intelligence and skills are important in seeking source of living while values serve as light to seek a decent life. Everybody needs to live in this world before we lay ourselves to the final destination.
Teachers as well as parents join hands to find ways not to eradicate the values that made us different from other nation. So much so with the identity that had passed from many generations.
