Work with your hands

Once again I have been with businessmen these past few days with their insights on this generation with regards to economic growth. Making money nowadays is truly easy because of social media. Unlike before that you cook yema, polvoron, halo-halo, barbecue, palamig, garage sale, and some kalye food, selling cosmetic products and sell them outside your house, at the classroom, at the work place and on the waiting area of parents beside school premises. Although some still do these things up to now but some prefer the sosyal way, easiest, fastest, less work and less kain ng time and that is “online selling”. Now all you have to do is post your products and services on your Facebook then wait until some order and avail of your products and services.

Online selling is not the only trending way of income but also by having a blog, website, travel and tours and having a dropping area. It’s sad to know that people who have finish a 4-year course do not have a job or have a job but it is not related to what they have finished and somewhat related but the wage is minimum and the benefits are unfair. That is why we cannot blame others if they make extra income in some other ways.

So do not be weary if you have noticed that there are more old government employees (no offense) and even private companies do lack manpower nowadays. Well there are a lot of reasons why some prefer to be the boss of their selves and time, like for example minimum wage, hideous management system, co-workers crab mentality, contractual with no benefits, one man multi-task and etc…

Have you not noticed that Baguio City is not only the center of education in the North but also the center of growing business venture of investors in the North. There are so many businesses anywhere your eyes roam and even in the outermost corner of the city, there are restaurants and cafés. Well the question is why? Because as far as we all know “Baguio City ay kabilang pa din sa mababang magbigay ng sweldo at kadalasan mas mababa pa sa minimum wage.” Ayon sa mangilan-ngilang negosyanteng aking nakausap. Nakakalungkot pero ito ang katotohanan kaya walang masama kung mag-negosyo na lamang basta magbayad din ng buwis nang tama hehehe.

In the Bible (KJV) 1 Thessalonians 4:11, “And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you”. This is yours truly Tita Ara Katter who always reminds you “Ti panagkaykaysa, mangiwanwan iti naranyag nga pagsayaatan”. This is iKit ng Bayan.
