22 TEAMS ENTERED IN 3RD CORDILLERA DANCE FEST

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet

the newly refurbished Wangal sports complex in Wangal here will host some 22 dancesport teams in the 2023 Cordillera Dance Festival- 3rd Dancesport Competition on October 14. The sports complex will see a new flooring and some 5,000 seats that will be the envy of Cordillera local
government units for years. The sports complex is also expected to host games in the on-going Cong. Eric Go Yap Congressional Cup this October and the playoffs on November.

This as the Benguet Dancesport team is eager to host the 22 teams for the Cordillera dance est next Saturday. Teams from Metro Manila as well as Cebu and Eastern Samar in the Visayas are expected to see action in the event organized by the Cordillera Dancesport in coordination with the Provincial Government of Benguet, the Municipality of La Trinidad and the City of Baguio.

Benguet Dancesport coach Charibelle Pingawan said the teams come from the Baguio City National High School, Lucban Elementary School from Baguio City, JPower Dancesport Team from Santiago City, the Pozzorubio DanceSport Team from Pangasinan, Solar Plexus DanceSport Team (Cavite),
Santiago West Dancesport Team (Santiago City), Pangasinan 2 Dancesport Team (Mangaldan, Pangasinan), Chaiya Coyang and Jan Ryu Oliva (Benguet), .JC Dancesport Team Elyu (La
Union), City of Ilagan Dancesport Team (Ilagan City) and Benguet Dancesport Team (Benguet).

Competitors also include the Baguio Dancesport Team, the WAYA Creatives (Baguio City), La Trinidad Central School (Benguet), Dasmarinas Dancesport Team Cavite (Cavite), Santiago City
Dancesport Team (Santiago City), Latinissimo (Sison, Pangasinan), Dance Vision (National Capital Region), Romeo De Jesus Jr. And Ofelia Moore (NCR), Ballroom Philippines (Angeles, Pampanga), the Dancesport Team Cebu City (Cebu City) and the Eastern Samar Dancesport Team (Eastern Samar).

Contestants will be competing in at least 33 events including the amateur Latin and standard which offers PhP12,000 in cash, PhP100,000 owrth of accident insurance from AIA Philippines aside from a trophy, medal and certificate. The first runner up walks home with PhP8,000, while the
third placer gets PhP5,000. Both will receive all the other prizes that the champion gets.
Pingawan, likewise, said that deadline of submission of complete entry forms will be on Thursday, while payments are due on October 13 prior the technical rehearsals and distribution of kits during the competition day.
