(Peace Accord) Commemoration KAPPIA: Akem Ti Kada Umili. Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr. join the celebration with Hon. Bonifacio C. On September 13, 1986, the Cordillera Bodong Administration – Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CBACPLA), under the leadership of rebel priest Fr. Conrado Balweg, responded to the call for peace from then President Corazon Aquino. They came together at the Mount Data Hotel to forge a “sipat” or peace agreement. This 1986 Mount Data Sipat Agreement marked a pivotal moment as the first successful peace agreement between the national government and rebel forces during the administration of former President Corazon Aquino. The event held at the Historic Mount Data Hotel in Bauko, Mountain Province, September 13, 2023.
