BCPO ENSURED POLICE VISIBILITY IN CROWDED AREAS FOR UNDAS 2023

BAGUIO CITY

The Baguio City Police Office started mobilizing its personnel and resources ahead of the holidays to secure the long weekend in the observance of All Saints and All Souls Days. As early as October 12, the BCPO-City Operations Management Unit is preparing to deploy 386 police personnel and 174 volunteers in public and private cemeteries in Baguio City. Deployment of the personnel at tourist spots, churches, malls, public market, and public transportation terminals will be from October 26 to November 2, 2023.

A total of 14 Police Assistance Desks shall be established in cemeteries and memorial parks in coordination with the local government units and other lined agencies. The BCPO-Traffic Enforcement Unit, headed by Lt.Col. Zacarias Caloy Dausen, along with the volunteer groups, will be deployed to manage traffic around cemeteries and other crowded areas. Starting October 31, 2023, the BCPO will be in full force for 24 hours so they will be able to respond in any emergency
situation, sustain police visibility, and enforce tighter measures against criminality in all potential spots of public convergence to ensure a safe and solemn observance of ‘Undas.’
