BSU, PCAARRD ink agreement for CAR SAFE, TBI

The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) signs a memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Benguet State University (BSU) on September 15, 2017.
The MOA signing includes two programs namely, the S&T Action Frontline Service for S&T Action Frontline for Emergencies & Hazards (SAFE) Program: Disaster Risk Reduction on Climate Change Impacts on Agricultural Farms in CAR and the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Program: Enhancing Technology Transfer and Commercialization of Agri-Aqua Technologies.
The SAFE program has six project components.
Project 1 is titled Disaster Risk Reduction Climate Change Impacts on Vegetable farms in Abra. This project will be implemented by the Abra State Institute of Science and Technology (ASIST) headed by Dr. Vicente A. Ato.
Project 2 is titled Disaster Risk Reduction Climate Change Impacts in Agricultural farms in Apayao Province and will be implemented by Apayao State College. This project will be headed by Dr. Reymalyn C. Aman.
Project 3 is titled Disaster Risk Reduction Climate Change Impacts on Vulnerable Terrace Farms in Benguet and will be implemented by BSU. This project is headed by Dr. Carlito P. Laurean.
Project 4 is the Disaster Risk Reduction Climate Change Impacts on Rice and Vegetable Farms in Ifugao and will be implemented by Ifugao State University with Dr. Teressita D. Allig as the head.
Project 5 is the Disaster Risk Reduction Climate Change Impacts on Vulnerable Coffee Farms in Kalinga and will be implemented by Kalinga State University with Dr. Robert A. Rodolfo heading the project.
And Project 6 is titled Disaster Risk Reduction Climate Change Impacts on Vulnerable Farms in Mountain Province and will be implemented by Mountain Province State Polytechnic College with Elmer D. Pakipac heading the project. PR / ABN
