COVID-19 frontliners commended in Adivay opening program

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) – The province of Benguet formally kicked off the 121st Benguet Foundation celebration through Adivay 2021 with the theme “Resilient and HEALTHIER Benguet – Flourishing in the Midst of Adversity”.
In the opening program at the capitol grounds on November 8 following an ecumenical mass, Governor Melchor Diclas made special appreciation to the healthcare workers that include medical and non-medical personnel “who are our heroes of today in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We would like to thank our healthcare workers in health and hospital facilities who have been risking their lives during this pandemic. He also thanked the continued cooperation of the people of Benguet, the government agencies and offices and other stakeholders to ensure a better response and management of the COVID-19 pandemic in the province of Benguet.
The Governor acknowledged the incumbent and former officials and employees from the provincial level, municipalities and barangays including those who passed on for their contributions and deeds of what the province of Benguet is today.
For his part, Benguet Caretaker Eric Go Yap greeted the people of Benguet and assured the continued support from his office to the needs of the people especially during this time of the pandemic.
“I greet all our kailians, a safe festive and happy Adivay celebration,” the Congressman said in his message read by his congressional staff Cheren Tacio. The Congressman he said wants every resident of Benguet to be healthy and strong while the restriction continues to be relaxed to enjoy the Adivay celebration and the coming Christmas season.
