MAYOYAO, Ifugao
Ifugao Lone District Representative Solomon Chungalao led the groundbreaking ceremony on May 28, 2024 at Nattum, Mayoyao to officially start the construction of the MaguitawaDulao Bridge, a dream of the people of the province now turning into reality – one step at a time. The PhP151M project was made possible through the initiative of Congressman Chungalao supported by the Provincial Local Government of Ifugao under the Convergence and Support Program – Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG) -Access Roads and/or Bridges from the National Roads Leading to Major/ strategic Public Buildings/ Facilities of the government.
The 141.5 meters long 2- lane Maguitawa-Dulao bridge will not only connect the two districts of Ifugao, Nattum,
Mayoyao (District 2) and Dulao, Lagawe (District 1) but also giving the towns of Mayoyao, Aguinaldo, and Alfonso Lista a direct access to the capital town Lagawe and vice-versa most especially in terms of product and supply circulation, transportation, and delivery of social services instead of passing through Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya.
“Today, we are going to groundbreak the DulaoMaguitawa Bridge. This bridge will connect the Lamut-SanafeHapid-Tupaya-Dulao Road to Maguitawa-Halag-NamnamaAlfonso Lista Road.
Once the construction of the bridge gets completed, the travel to and from Lagawe-Lamut to Aguinaldo and Alfonso Lista will be cut short from eight hours to just four hours as travellers no longer need to pass by Nueva Vizcaya and Isabela before reaching the said points of origin to destinations”, said Congressman Chungalao in his speech.
Meanwhile, during the activity, the role of the Municipal Local Government of Aguinaldo was recognized by Ifugao
officials highlighting its dedication in providing funds and equipments since 2007 for the opening of the HalagMaguitawa road which supported the fast approval of the construction of the said bridge.
Benefitting also from the project is Barangay Halag, Aguinaldo and other nearby barangays, helping economic growth and creating businesses and recreational activities which helps in the poverty alleviation in the whole
municipality. Present in the said activity were Ifugao Governor Jerry U. Dalipog, Board Member Agustin C. Calya-en, Lagawe Mayor Martin L. Habawel, Jr., Mayoyao Mayor Jimmy B.
