INDIGENOUS PEOPLE EDUCATION (IPED) DAY 2024

Pursuant to Proclamation 1906, declaring the Month of October every Year as National Indigenous People’s Month, the Schools Division of Benguet joins the observance of the National Indigenous Peoples Month from October 1-31, 2024 with the theme,” Kasaysayan, Karunungan, at Wika ng mga Katutubong Pamayanan: Mga Saligan ng Katutubong Pagkakakilanlan at Tulay Tungo sa Inklusibong Kaunlaran.” Lubas Elementary School celebrated the said activities November 13; 2024.It was headed by School Principal Esther F. Rizaldo.

Participated by the Barangay officials headed by Barangay Captain Milagros Familan, School PTA Officers headed by Mrs. Janet Lacbungan, the SK Chairman Ms. Audrey L. Federico and the Teachers, learners and parents. Maam Marina M. Dacpano the school IPED Coordinator prepared an action plan which includes different games and activities such as Bunong Braso for Grade 1 to Grade 3. Tug of War, Salikawkaw and Tayaw for Grades 4-6, kadang-kadang for Grade 1 to 6. Solo Singing for Grade Kinder to Grade 6 with one piece in title “ Talged “.

Native cooking for Grade 4 to 6. PTA officers, Teachers, Barangay officials, visitors and school cultural group in elementary and baranggay have their special participation in performing cultural dances and wearing the different kinds of ethnic clothes of different group. Everyone enjoyed much the activities because they experience playing localized games for almost a decade. Enjoying means they express their emotions and most especially their socialization is being developed and self-confidence. The goal of IPED is to develop indigenous people communication skills. IPED activity is already a yearly celebration according to Division Memorandum 314, 2.2022.
