ITOGON TOO MUCH FOR SHORTHANDED ATOK, FAVORITES WIN ANEW

TUBA, Benguet

Jude Quitolbo had his comeback and made 32 point, 18 rebounds to lead Itogon to a 149-123 victory over a fighting five Atok in the Cong. Erric Go Yap Congressional Cup at the municipal gym here last Sunday. Quitolbo missed the team’s six previous games including that 92-95 loss to defending champion La Trinidad last month. Quitolbo joined forces with Kim Padawag and fellow varsity Jan Rasec Ganilo, who scored 26 points each, in slaying a hard fighting Atok which refused to wilt despite gasping for breath in the second half.

Padawag had 12 assists and eight assists aside from locking four steals. Reyne Pingi and Lenz Antolino added 17 points each four of which were from the three-point line. Mankayan rules Tublay Adrian Sison scored a game high 34 points to lead Mankayan to its second win after beating Tublay 90-80 also last Sunday. Juanito Bagwan finished with 14 points and added the same number of rebound for Mankayan even as Lindon de Guzman added 13, pulled down 14 boards in the winning effort of Mankayan which improved to 2-3 win-loss slate. Tublay’s backcourt duo,
Arjun Dagwasi and Prado Domerez, Jr., scored 15 and five of their 24 and 18 points, respectively. King Pascual added 10 points and right rebounds for the losing effort of Tublay which got a team high 13 boards from Cassie Czen Tagulao. Dagwasi had a personal best nine rebounds in the game as Tublay fell to 3-4.

Tuba blasts Bakun

Tuba scored its sixth victory at the expense of Bakun, 118-78. Nelvin Turtoga led all scorers with 29 points and named best player of the game, while Cyril de Vera added 21. John Cedrick Pugong had 15 points aside from pulling 14 boards, while Jaime Edward Reyes had a game high 19 rebounds and six points and six assists in his stat sheet.
Jay Ryan Contada again led Bakun with 28 points, while Javier Danio added 13 markers.

Juralbal leads Kibungan past Sablan

With John Paul Juralbal around, Kibungan can win. The former University of the Cordillera Jaguar breathed life to Kibungan as they returned to winning form with a 101 – 81 victory over Sablan. Juralbal topscored with 25 points, pulled down 17 rebounds while adding eight assists, three steals and a block. His fellow cop Romel Lavandia submitted 20 points and pulled down a game high 22 boards, while dishing six dimes, made three steals and two blocked shots. Khurt Ciano and Diether Bulso led Sablan with 18 and 13 points, respectively, with the latter adding 12 rebounds to his name. The shortest man on the floor, Ciano, pulled down nine boards.

Trinidad Spoils SablanEnergized Game

La Trinidad found its stride in the third quarter and coasted to a 111-95 victory over an outmatched Sablan at the
Benguet State University closed court last Wednesday. Russel Tuazon exploded in the third canto as he scored nine of his team high 27 points, while Clyde Habon added 17 points for La Trinidad while pulling down nine rebounds.
Jason Alvaran added 11 markers. Diether Bulso led Sablan with 30 points, while adding eight rebounds. Jim Coy-om and Harris Dinamling added 16 and 11 for Sablan as it lost its seventh match in eight games.
