JOHN HAY TEAMS LEADS IN FIL-AM GOLF

Camp John Hay  teams demonstrated strong presence   and took an early  lead in Flights  A and B of their respective regular  divisions  in the ongoing    74th Januarius Fil-Am Golf Invitational  here. Luigi Paolo  Wong  capitalized his familiarity at home  in John Hay layout  ,     scored   3-under  for 39 points to power   Camp John Hay 1  first round  130 points iin FIL A. Also scoring  for CJH 1 are Melchor Carlos Rabanes II and Emilio Antonio Curran who both carded 31s while Ranz Louie Balay-odao had 29. Eastridge-Primehomes in second spot with  127 points marked by   Ralph Ryan Batican even par 36 points .

Forest Hills 1 127, Team Brookside 1 122  and Modern Titos-Premium Feeds 122. Over at Baguio Country Club (BCC) layout, Camp John Hay 2 scored 84 en route to a 3-point lead in AM “B” over  BCC 2 at second spot 81 and Team Surigao 78 Team Master submitted 96 points  to top  AM “A”  over  Time Cargo Logistics 2 and  Forest Hills 2 with similar  93.  Peal KAi GC signed  113 topped FIL B followed by  Tipsy  Pig TLC  111 and  Moto Team 107 in the tournament with Januarius Holdings, Inc. as the tournament title sponsor and  supported by A Brown, Eastridge, and Toyota as event presenter while Alveo, Tipsy Pig, Aquatico, Moto Lubricant, Master Siomai, Robinsons Land, and Britanny as backers.

Other leading teams : FIL C –MGC/Edmari 113, FLCA Golfers  Team 1  103  and  Tiyo Paeng Davao 95 ; AM C–Baguio Blue Bloods 69, X1R Smartscore 2 69 and Red Core Solutions 68; FIL E–Fil-Golfers of Hawaii Team  1 91, Uraguns 1 84 and Square and Compass Golf of Nueva Ecija78; and AM E–Royal Northwoods  Team 2 71, Ultraflite 2 56 and Fil-Golfers Team 2 56.  Meanwhile,  defending  titlists Manila Southwoods 1 and Eastridge-PrimeHomes   will start their  title retention bids today (Tuesday).

Manila  Southwoods , aiming for its 10th straight Fil Championship division will get a boost from  Fil-Briton Enrique Dimayuga, the reigning Putra Cup individual champion, and fellow national pool members Jet Hernandez and Shinichi Suzuki. Coby Rolida and Miko Granada.  Eastridge 1 , runner up to Manila Southwoods last year , has a strong line up composed of   Jeffren Lumbo, Jhondie Quibol, Bobe Salahog, Ronel Taga-an—ace shotmakers  from the provinces—and new recruit Don Bregente.

Januarius Private Equity, finished third in 2023, has an almost intact team –Jet Mathay, Terence Macatangay, Ray Sangil, Ayon Sanchez and Kirby Lachica. Masaichi Otake is the newest addition. Other top contenders are SPES Team 1 and Time Cargo Logistics. SPES-1 is a mix of players from Valley Golf, Cebu and Bacolod with Marvin Mendoza, Bayani Garcia, Mark Dy, Justin Limjap, Jacob Cajita and Eduardo Puyat. Actor/golfer Derek Ramsay spearheads Time Cargo alongside Ruel Cabral, Jun Plana, Justin Tambunting and jungolfer Emilio Hernandez.
