LA TRINIDAD TOURISM WEEK SET, SEPTEMBER 26-30

Benguet- All systems go for this town’s Tourism Week, starting Sept 26. Mayor Romeo Salda on Friday said that together with other municipal officials and barangay leaders are very enthusiastic to promote the
local products and tourism sites after two years of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Salda is bent on suspending motor vehicle coding to cater to all tourists coming from across the country to visit their municipality known as the Rose Capital and Salad Bowl of the country.

The town’s celebration is in line with the World’s Tourism Day. Valdred Olsim, La Trinidad’s Tourism Officer said, tourism receipts modestly has gone up mainly brought by the easing up of border controls, and number of tourists continue to rise after Pres. Marcos declared no more lockdown. Olsim added that their
town gets an estimated P1- Million a month in terms of tourism receipts from 22 tourism sites which provide agri-tourism-farm activities.

Tourism Summit which will discuss opportunities and challenges in the local tourism industry top the week’s
celebration. Other activities lined up include tourism product fair, investment and product promotions fair, tour guiding forum.The municipal council, headed by Vice-Mayor Roderick Awingan appropriated some P200k for the series of activities.
