SM City Baguio to open new parking building in October

BAGUIO CITY —SM City Baguio continues to serve its customers with convenient shopping and dining with the upcoming opening of its 5-storey parking building before the end of October.
This will provide 698 parking slots and an additional 202 bicycle parking slots in addition to its current 765 parking spaces in the main mall. This is also the mall’s way of easing the traffic and street parking problems in the city. The 5-storey parking building is a major component of SM City Baguio’s expansion project that embraces green architecture and it is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2020 following the opening of its car park.
The mall’s parking building is SM City Baguio’s contribution to the efforts of the local government to address the inadequate parking spaces within the central business district area and part of its corporate social responsibility in providing convenient shopping and dining to its valued customers.
Motor vehicles wanting to park in the new parking structure can enter the building through its entrance along Gov. Pack Road in front of the University of the Cordilleras and mall goers can still have access to the main mall through the escalators and elevators provided for the convenience of the mall goers.
SM City Baguio started serving residents in Baguio and nearby provinces since 2003. It has since become an important part of the community, and a catalyst for employment and business opportunities in the City of Pines.
Aside from the car park building, the project will also highlight green architecture through a sky terrace located at the third floor which serves as a view deck, playground for the children, relaxation area for the adults, and home to variety of species of plants and trees with canopied walkways, ponds, and waterscapes.
There will also be a rain catchment basin that will ensure the collection of a huge volume of rain water that will be used by the mall for its daily operations among other purposes. SM City Baguio management expressed optimism that the full operation of its 5-storey parking building will help serve its customers better.
