“Weed” Farm At Mountainous Kalinga-Isabela Border Torched

A 300-square meter marijuana plantations went up in smoke along the mountainous borders of barangay Lacnog, Tabuk City, Kalinga and barangay Minagbag, Quezon, Isabela Thursday afternoon.
Local residents tipped off anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Kalinga and local policemen about the illicit marijiuana plantation prompting a joint PDEA-police team to confirm the information.
The 300-square meter plantation with around 1,050 fully-grown marijuana valued at P210, 000.00 was located on a difficult to reach mountainous area, authorities said.
The government agents immediately uprooted the marijuana plants and set them ablaze except those taken as samples for evidence purposes, said Cordillera police director Brig. General Rwin Pagkalinawan.
No cultivator was however chanced upon by government agents, whom they could have charged for the illicit plantation.
