BAGUIO CITY
The City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC), led by chairperson Mayor Benjamin Magalong, conducted an activity entitled ‘Your C.A.R.E. Cares! Be the Change’ last October 19, 2024 at the PFVR Gymnasium. Almost 250 students from Baguio City National High School, Guisad Valley National High School, and Sto. Tomas National High School attended the activity facilitated by Reverend Rowena Orajay of Jesus Reigns Ministries and UpLife Movement.
The symposium focused on Connection, Affirmation, Respect, and Excellence. It was an avenue for the students to
build meaningful relationships, value themselves and others, respect each other, and strive for the best in all areas of life. “Living by C.A.R.E. means taking small, intentional steps every day to connect, affirm, respect, and pursue excellence. When we live with these values, we build a better future for ourselves and our communities.
We inspire others, uplift our families, and rise above the challenges life throws our way— including the temptation of drugs. Together, let’s commit to being the change we want to see—one choice at a time,” Rev. Orajay said during her closing remarks. Students also signed a pledge of commitment to stay away from drugs and harmful substances; encourage others to make healthy and positive choices; learn about the dangers of drug use and spread awareness;
promote a safe drug-free environment in the school and the community; and become advocates for a drug-free life, inspiring others to live free from harmful substances. The activity is in partnership with the Department of Education-Baguio City.
