COVID 19 CASES IN BAGUIO ON THE RISE

BAGUIO CITY

Baguio City Health Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) chief Dr. Donnabel Tubera-Panes
said they have recorded more Covid-19 cases in May in Baguio City compared to the cases in the months of January to April this year. She also disclosed that there is an increase on the number of patients needed to be confined at the hospitals, as she reminded the public not to let their guards down. Tubera-Panes said that they have already logged 96 individuals who showed symptoms of Covid-19, most of whom were not vaccinated and have no booster doses.

According to TuberaPanes, after the declaration of the World Health Organization (WHO) that Covid-19 is no longer a big concern and authorities loosen up the protocols, people started to go
to gatherings, events or crowded places. She said this resulted to people catching the virus because of seemingly forgetting the virus is still much around. She again encouraged Baguio City residents to observe minimum health protocols like wearing facemasks during indoor activities. She also reminded people to be vaccinated and get their booster shots.
