On November 29, 2024, Tuba Central School conducted an INSET (In-Service Training) on Crash Course on Crafting of SOLO-Based Assessments/ PISA Type Questions to upgrade teachers’ assessment skills. The training aimed to familiarize participants with solo taxonomy principles, develop effective solo-based assessment strategies, and enhance student learning outcomes.

The INSET featured interactive presentations, group discussions, and hands-on activities, culminating in improved understanding and implementation of solo taxonomy among participants. Key takeaways included designing effective assessment tools, promoting critical thinking, and fostering student-centered learning. Teachers developed exemplary quizzes and exam questions aligned with the Table of Specifications (TOS) for Grade 1-6 subjects, ensuring comprehensive coverage of learning objectives.

The program’s success was evident in participants’ enhanced capacity for designing solo-based assessments and increased emphasis on student-centered learning. These exemplary assessments demonstrates our teachers’ commitment to innovative instruction. By integrating SOLO taxonomy, we foster critical thinking, creativity and deeped learning.
