Cultural Independence Day

Students from the University of the Cordilleras, wearing their respective native costumes representing the provinces Mt. Province, Kalinga, Ifugao, Abra, Apayao and Benguet, posed with the SM City Baguio Centerpiece entitled “Unconquered Cordillera” at the background during the celebration of 120th Philippine Independence Day in Baguio City. The artistic 12×16-feet assemblage depicts the Cordilleran pride and freedom. On top of the high mountains, the Cordilleran warrior stands firm and strong with his Kalasag, symbolizing the strength of the Cordilleras in protecting themselves and their lands from the menacing eye of the colonizers.
