104 Cordillera PUIs test negative for COVID

BAGUIO CITY March 23 – The Cordillera office of the Department of Health (DOH-CAR disclosed that 104 of the identified 185 persons under investigation (PUIs) from the different parts of the region tested negative of the Corona vi4rus Disease (COVID)v 2019 which shows that there are many individuals who are still free from the contagious virus.
DOH-CAR regional director Dr. Amelita M. Pangilinan said that the 185 PUIs are spread out in the different parts of the region where 4 are confirmed COVID cases from Baguio City while 55 persons are still awaiting their confirmatory test results that were transmitted to the Manila-based Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
She claimed that of the 185 PUIs regionwide, 55 persons have been discharged from the different health facilities, 71 individuals are in strict home quarantine while 59 people remain hospitalized.
Based on the data from the DOH-CAR, Baguio accounted for the greatest number of PUIs with 90 where 34 are in strict home quarantine, 32 remain hospitalized and 24  were discharged followed by Benguet with 26 PUIs where 13 were discharged, 12 are hospitalized and 1 is in home quarantine.
Abra had 17 PUIs where 9 had been discharged and 8 remain under home quarantine while Kalinga had 14 PUIs where 10 persons are under home quarantine, 3 are hospitalized and 1 was discharged.
Mountain Province had 21 PUIs 6 had been discharged, 5 remain hospitalized and 10 are still under home quarantine while Apayao had 9 PUIs where 7 persons are hospitalized and 1 was discharged.
Based on the data from the DOH-CAR, there are already 5 confirmed COVID cases in the region that includes a 39-year old seaman from Manabo, Abra who had travel history from the United Arab Emirates, a 61-year old female Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who came from Italy who resides in Baguio City, a 52-year old female who had travel history from Manila to Baguio City, a 55-year old male who had travel history from Makati City from Baguio City and a 23-year old male who had been working in Pasig City but had travel history from Manila to Baguio City.
All of the confirmed COVID cases from Abra and Baguio city are either confined and in stable condition in Level 3 health facilities in Metro Manila and Baguio City awaiting succeeding tests although the 55-year old male who had been confined in Manila already tested negative for the dreaded virus and awaiting to be given a clean bill of health.
The health department also reported 4 deaths in the region where 2 tested negative of the deadly virus while 2 are still awaiting the confirmatory test results from the RITM to ascertain whether or not their cause of death is COVID-19.
