Teaching is the cheapest but the noblest profession on earth. The scriptures illustrated simple teaching strategies done by Jesus to provide knowledge, and values to the people especially to his disciplines. Indeed, teachers are one of the mental providers for our youth.
Teaching strategies had evolved through the years, but the main purpose had not change, the provision of knowledge and skills garnished with proper values. However, mental providers have a lot to do to cope with the fast change of time and attitude of people they are dealing with.
The advent of technologies and other related activities needed to teach the 21sth century learners Challenges the capabilities of our mental health providers.
Behind those challenges in the teaching profession, the Department of Education provides privileges to the mental health providers both public and private schools. All the teaching personnel privileges are prescribed by law.
Celebration of National Teachers Month (NTM) from September 5 to October 5, in pursuant of the Presidential Proclamation No. 242. This year teacher’s month celebration aims to honor those who are in the teaching profession, revitalize the image and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in the Philippine society.
The provision of professional development through scholarships, seminars, workshops and post graduate studies. Yearly Allowances and cash incentives which are in accordance to the legal basis of Department of Budget and Management.
These incentives are just few of the DepEd many programs to motivate the mental health providers. The department believes in the Hierarchy of Needs theory which was coined by Abraham Maslow in his 1993 paper “A Theory of Human Motivation”. According to the hierarchy of needs, you must be in good health, safe and secure with meaningful relationships and confidence before you are able to be the most you can be.
Mental Health providers needs the collaboration and understanding of the community and support of their superiors for an excellent output.
