Bakuna centers, isolation facility pinuri ng lungsod sa paglaban sa COVID-19

LUNGSOD NG BAGUIO – Sa pangunguna ni Mayor Benjamin Magalong at Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan ay ginawaran ng pamahalaang lungsod ng certificates of commendation ang four big sites o ang Baguio Bakuna Centers at isang isolation facility na naging instrument sa laban ng lungsod sa kasalukuyang pandemya ng coronavirus disease-2019 (Covid-19) sa flag-raising rites noong Abril 11, sa City Hall.
Ang big sites ay ang University of Baguio gym, Saint Louis University gym (Bishop Carlito Cenzon Sports Center), SM City Baguio, at Baguio
Country Club habang ang isolation facility ay nasa Teacher’s Camp.
Sinabi ni Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes na habang ang Bakuna Centers sa UB at SLU ay tumigil ng operasyon, ang mga nasa SM City Baguio at Baguio Country Club ay nagpatuloy na magserbisyo bilang big vaccination sites.
“Without these big sites, the city could not have attained high at the fastest vaccination time and to as many people as possible,” aniya.
Mula nang simulang ng pamahalaang lungsod ang vaccination roll-out sa Covid-19, ay inihayag ni Brillantes na nakamit ng lungsod ang halos 105 percent vaccination rate para sa first dose; 99.88 percent, second dose; 39 percent para sabooster at 89.81 percent vaccination rate sa 12 hanggang 17 taong gulang na mga bata.
Ibidagdag niya na ang mga Bakuna Center ng lungsod ay binisita ng National Task Force against Covid-19 Vaccine Cluster. Sa isolation facility naman sa Teacher’s Camp, sinabi ni Brillantes na ang management nito ay “did not falter in supporting the city’s isolation strategy during the height of our Covid cases and successfully fulfilled their commitment.”
Sa kaniyang bahagi, sinabi ng Mayor na ang pamamahala sa four big sites at isolation facility ay “have distinguished themselves through dedicated selfless service, extraordinary efforts and exceptional contributions in ensuring that the city of Baguio remains safe during the pandemic.”
