PhilHeath extends premium payment to May 31

DAGUPAN CITY – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has issued a moratorium on contribution payments for the applicable months from February to April 2020.
In the Kapihan sa Pangasinan program of the Philippine Information Agency, Joseph Manuel, regional information officer of PhilHealth, said payment of premiums for these particular months shall be extended until May 31, 2020 without interest to all direct contributors, as per PhilHealth Advisory 2020-027.
“Dahil nga po sa ipinapatupad na enhanced community quarantine at pakikiisa sa Bayanihan Heal as One Act, ang pagbayad po ng contribution ng lahat ng direct contributors sa applicable months ay ma-eextend hanggang sa katapusan ng Mayo,” Manuel said.
By direct contributors, Manuel said these include the employed sector, whether private and public, self-earning individuals who voluntarily pay their contributions, and all members who have the capacity to pay and contribute.
“PhilHealth remains one with the whole nation in ensuring the health and safety of the public, kaya huwag muna mag-worry kung hindi muna makakapagbayad dahil extended naman ito at walang interes,” he explained.
Manuel appealed to employers implementing a skeletal workforce arrangement to ensure that employees with no earnings are properly reported using the RF-1 form.
Those who have temporarily stopped operations, however, are required to submit an electronic copy of a properly accomplished ER-3 form to their respective account officer.
He added that PhilHealth will also pay for all the medical expenses, including professional fees for patients confined due to coronavirus disease (probable and confirmed case) who were admitted in private or public hospitals from February 1 to April 14, 2020. For those confined from April 15 onward, PhilHealth will continue to pay according to the prescribed health package.
