B’gay flea market eyed to decongest market

The City of Baguio is set to construct satellite markets in five barangays this year. Arch. Johnny Degay of the City Buildings and Architecture Office (CBAO) said, the projects have long been in the pipeline as long-term plans.
The assistant chief of CBAO added, with restricted mobility of people due to quarantine measures imposed by the national government to quell spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19), the projects gained more significance.
Once implemented, the new structures are seen to decongest human traffic at the City Public Market; and, widen the economic base of the city resulting to additional jobs.
Degay revealed, for this year, the Gibraltar District will see the rise of a four-storey satellite market with basement parking.
Barangays San Vicente, Middle Quezon Hill, Dominican- Mirador and Bayan Park are likewise lined-up for similar constructions.
