Fake Interpol Agents Cornered In Quirino, Cagayan Valley

BAGUIO CITY (April 23, 2021) – Cagayan Valley policemen cornered at least 18 fake International Police (Interpol) members before midnight Thursday in barangay Balagbag, Diffun town in Quirino province.

Flagged down around 11PM Thursday for violating quarantine protocols, specifically failing to show travel documents,  the 18 wearing Interpol and UN uniforms,  could not show valid documents of their identities,  said Cagayan Valle police director Brig. Gen. Crizaldo Nieves.

Four even senior citizens, the 18, Quirino town police chief Captain Reynold Gonzales said, were also earlier tailed because of persistent reports that they were recruiting Interpol members in Quirino for a membership fee of P2,000 and another P100 monthly dues ot become full-pledged Interpol members.

Gonzales added that the 18 even identified themselves as high officials of the Interpol based in the Philippines.

Brig. Gen. Nieves vowed that authorities will sue the 18 for Usurpation of Authority and violations of RA 11332 (Health Protocols).

The fake Interpol members were taken to the Diffun police station.
