Narco-politician, arrested in Ilocos Sur

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – A buy bust operation resulted in the arrest of a barangay kagawad in Brgy. Langaoan, Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur on August 14, 2018.
Police Senior Inspector Joel M. Castillo, chief of Sta Maria Police Station, identified the suspect as Brgy. Kagawad Eddie Fernando Cabico, a resident of the area.
Confiscated in Cabico’s possession were one small piece of heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be “shabu” and a P500 bill as buy-bust money.
Cabico is a drug surrenderee of the said municipality and categorized as user/narco politician.
Cabico was brought to Ilocos Sur District Hospital for medical examination and thereafter turned over to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 1 in San Fernando City, La Union for drug test and proper documentation.
“The call of our duty, as police officers, is to serve and protect the community from proliferation of illegal drugs, violence and criminality; and that is what we are doing,” PCSupt Sapitula said.
The Police Regional Office 1 continuously conducts anti-illegal drug campaigns and proactive activities to ensure public safety in the region. ABN
