NEW SENATE SOUGHT TO PROBE NEAR P2B MT. PROVINCE INFRA PROJECTS

SABANGAN, MT. PROVINCE – The new composition of the Philippine Senate has been sought to probe near P2B worth of road slope protection projects in Mountain Province, tagged by critics as done via “midnight biddings”. Anti-corruption activist Juniper Dominguez of Sabangan, Mountain Province is seeking to probe what he called “anomaly-tainted biddings” at the FOwh- Cordillera did before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s inauguration.
Questions were raised over 11 rock net and wire mesh Xslope protection projects that were said to be bided out on June 28 and 29, 2022 amounting to P1,832,076,440.46.
Dominguez claims bidding was concluded so fast because they were already “fixed” in collusion with unscrupulous officials at the DPWH Cordillera.
He identified the following projects: Project Title: 22P00074 – along the Baguio-Bontoc road with an approved Budget Cost of 145,277,184.82; Project Title: 22P00073 – Baguio-Bontoc road. – KO369+540 – K0369+930, Approved Budget Cost : P173,697,881.08; Project Title : 22P00072 – Baguio-Bontoc road.
Approved Budget Cost : P154,397,599.14; Project Title : 22P00071 – Baguio-Bontoc road. Approved Budget Cost : P135,098,221.30; Project Title : 22P00070 – Mt. Prov. – Cagayan via Tabuk – Enrile road. – Approved Budget Cost: P289,496,597.68; Project Title : 22P00069 – Mt. Prov. – Cagayan via Tabuk – Enrile road.
Approved Budget Cost :P106,148,764.46; Project Title : 22P00080 – Mt. Prov. – Cagayan via Tabuk – Enrile road. Approved Budget Cost : P144,748,573.01; Project Title : 22P00081 – Mt. “This fund can be used in hundreds of projects that can spur development for the people instead of fattening the bank accounts of the DPWH-CAR and their benefactors?” his complaint before the Senate stressed.
Dominguez explained that he is not against development, but “rocket and wire mesh slope protection is not development.”
