NNC-CAR conducts nutrition programs implementation monitoring in Abra 

BANGUED, ABRA – Municipal and barangay nutrition committees of the province continue to undergo monitoring and evaluation to ensure their functionality and efficiency in delivering nutrition programs and activities.
The National Nutrition Council-Cordillera (NNC-CAR) and the Provincial Nutrition Committee of Abra (PNC) recently conducted the Monitoring and Evaluation on Local Level Plan of Implementation (MELLPI) in four municipalities of Bangued, Danglas, Peñarubia and Tayum.
NNC-CAR assisted by PNC Abra evaluated the performance of the Municipal Nutrition Committee chaired by the local chief executives of the municipalities and the Barangay Nutrition Committee headed by the barangay chairperson.
The nutrition committees were evaluated on program planning and implementation in the field of micronutrient supplementation and food assistance to children, nutrition education and campaign, maternal and child health services, livelihood assistance and human resource development.
During the final deliberation of the results, no municipality has achieved a total of 85 points which is a score required for the Green Banner Award.
The PNC-Abra has also set the monitoring and evaluation of the municipalities of San Quintin, Dolores and Luba on the last week of May.
The PNC Abra is an interagency committee chaired by Governor Maria Jocelyn V. Bernos with Dr. Antonio Valera as the Action Officer. It is supported by the member-agencies such as the Provincial Health Office, the Department of Health-Abra, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, DepEd-Abra nurses, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Office of the Provincial Veterinary, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Office, the Department of Interior and Local Government, and the Philippine Information Agency.
