NPA member with double murder case, captured in Kalinga

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – A member of New People’s Army (NPA) wanted for double murder and multiple frustrated murder case for the ambush of soldiers in Balbalan, Kalinga in 2002 was captured by joint police operatives in Balbalan, Kalinga, the Police Regional Office-Cordillera,reported.
Police BGen. R’win Pagkalinawan, regional director, identified the suspect as Pancho Diwag Lunes, 54, alias Edgar, formerly member of Militia ng Bayan under Lejo Cawilan Command, KLG Baggas, ICRC.
He was arrested arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marcelino Wakas, of Branch 25, Regional Trial Court, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga for the crime of Double Murder and Multiple Frustrated Murder under CC No. 74-2001 with no bail recommended.
Pagkalinawan said, joint operatives of Kalinga Provincial Police Office, CIDG, 503rd Brigade, 5ID, PA, 50IB PA, 53MICOMIB, and MIG2-ISAFP captured the suspect at his hide out at Sitio Ubel, Barangay. Gawaan, Balbalan, Kalinga on the evening of June 8.
Pagkalinawan added that the suspect was tagged/listed PROCOR Wanted CPP/NPA Terrorist with a head reward of P 700,000.00 as per DND-DILG Joint Order 14-2012.
Arrested person is now under the custody of PIU and Balbalan MPS, Kalinga PPO for documentation and debriefing prior turn over with the court of origin for proper disposition.
