P17.4 millions worth of marijuana destroyed in Benguet, Kalinga

Camp Dangwa, Benguet – The continuous marijuana eradication of the Police Regional Office- Cordillera yielded more that P17.4 millions from the six different plantation sites in Benguet and Kalinga provinces.
Regional Information Officer Marnie Abellanida said, Benguet Provincial Police Office discovered 21,750 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants and 20 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks in Kibungan, with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P6,750,000.00.
Abellanida said, in a separate marijuana eradication operation in Bakun, Benguet, another 42,000 fully-grown marijuana plants with an estimated DDB value of P8,400,000.00 were discovered and destroyed.
He said, in Tinglayan, Kalinga, joint operatives of Kalinga PPO and PDEA-CAR have discovered more or less 11,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with an estimated DDB value of P2,320,000.00.
In total, for the month of January, PROCOR recorded a total of 25 marijuana eradication operations wherein a total of 223,790 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants, 117.50 kg of dried marijuana stalks, and 125 pieces of marijuana seedlings with a total Dangerous Drug Board of P58, 207,000.00 were uprooted and burned.
