PGLU, PNP-PRO1 reaffirm strong collab for LU’s peace and order in 2021

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) and the Philippine National Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) have re-affirmed their strong collaboration in keeping peace and order in La Union this 2021, as public security remains integral to crisis recovery and transformation.
Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III expressed his gratitude to the PRO 1 led by its Regional Director, PBGEN Rodolfo S. Azurin, Jr. for their commitment in preserving and promoting peace and order in the province.
Gov. Pacoy graced the PRO1’s Monday Flag Raising Ceremony on January 11, 2021 at the PRO 1 Grandstand, Parian, City of San Fernando, La Union. In his message, Gov. Pacoy emphasized that Peace, Order, and Safety as the enabler of local economic development. “Safety, peace, and order are building blocks to our goal on Transformative Governance and in building a Stronger La Union,” Gov. Pacoy said.
“We have utmost confidence to embark on this challenging journey on crisis recovery because we are a peaceful, safe, and orderly community–thanks to the efforts of all peace-keeping units stationed in our province and the region,” he added.
To manifest the PGLU’s continuous support to the PNP, Gov. Pacoy announced that the PGLU will be donating two units of ambulance – one for PRO 1 and another for the La Union Provincial Police Office. This shall strengthen emergency support services of the police force especially during this time of crisis recovery.
PBGEN Azurin, meanwhile, said that the PRO 1 shall continue to work closely with PGLU to maintain Peace, Order, and Safety as the primary enabler of local economic development. It will strengthen collaboration with the local government on resolving various social issues such as on illegal drugs, criminalities, and terrorism.
