PNP conducts anti-illegal drug awareness lecture in Ifugao

LAGAWE, IFUGAO – The Ifugao Provincial Police Office conducted an anti-illegal drugs lecture during a youth symposium attended by the students of Asipulo National High School on September 26, 2018, at the Asipulo municipal gymnasium.
The activity was initiated by the barangay officials of Barangay Antipolo with the participation of the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
The symposium focused on issues and topics that affects the youth of today such as illegal drugs, adolescent reproductive health, responsibilities of the youth and solid waste management.
PNP   member discussed the most common abused drugs in the Philippines and the factors that contribute to people becoming addicted to them, further explained about the addiction that has unfortunate side effects to the mental and physical aspect of a person. PNP personnel also distributed flyers regarding illegal drugs during the activity.
Through this, the PNP hopes that it will create awareness to the students so that they will develop strong conviction and not to be tempted in using illegal drugs.
