Benguet Farmers Donate Harvests

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO – Amid the crisis brought by Novel Corona Virus, the spirit of generosity and kindness is still explicit in the hearts of our hardworking farmers in Atok, Benguet when they have harvested their crops for the frontliners and communities affected by Enhanced Community Quarantine.
Personnel from Police Regional Office 1 under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Joel S Orduña, Regional Director went to Barangay Paoay, Atok, Benguet and assisted in harvesting carrots, ice lettuce and cabbage.
Harvested vegetables were immediately distributed to the frontliners and more than 600 families in the province of La Union. Others were donated in Tondo, Manila for the families affected by the residential fire last April 15, 2020.
The said vegetables were distributed under the “Kapwa mo, Sagot ko” Program of Police Regional Office 1 inspired by the theme “Mula sa kanilang taniman, dadalhin ng kapulisan sa inyong hapag kainan”.
Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 1 remains dedicated in mobilizing stakeholders that will alleviate the effects of COVID-19 in these trying times.
