Communist Rebel Surrenders In Mt. Province

BAGUIO CITY (May 13, 2020) —  A communist rebel, whom authorities claimed was assigned with the “Sentro de Grabidad” of the Ilocos-Cordillera Regional Committee of the CPP-NPA, surrendered on Tuesday afternoon in Tadian town in Mt. Province.

“Ka Noli or Ka VCO”, regarded as number 29 in the “Watchlist Personality in the 2^nd Quarter wayback in 2014, reportedly operating in Mt. Province, Abra and Ilocos Sur borders, gave up to intelligence operatives in Poblacion, Tadian, Mt. Province at around 1PM Tuesday.

The rebel reportedly surrendered a World War II US carbine caliber .30 M1 rifle with 8 ammunitions, the Cordillera police said.

“Ka Noli or Ka VCO” is still undergoing tactical interview in Babalaan, Tadian, Mt. Province, said Cordillera region police director Brig. Gen. Rwin Pagkalinawan.
