JHMC heralds Gender and Development efforts

BAGUIO CITY – A five-day training was conducted for the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) Gender and Development Team led by the JHMC Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer and GAD-Executive Committee Chairperson Jane Theresa G. Tabalingcos.
The said training was organized by the Regional Organization of GAD Focal Points, Inc. spearheaded by Reina P. Olivar, a Gender and Development Specialist and a Philippine Commission on Women – certified GAD Technical Assistance Provider trainer. 
It was an intensive training full of knowledge and application which included topics on Gender Sensitivity Training, Gender and Development Mandates, Gender and Development Analysis Tool, Gender and Development Monitoring Evaluation Framework and Gender Planning and Budgeting.
The first part of the training happened last October 11-13, 2017 at the Crown Legacy while the second part was earmarked last November 3-4, 2017 at El Cielito participated in by 15 JHMC employees as headed by Danny B. Latawan as the GAD-TWG head and as coordinated by Leslie T. Dulfo (GAD Coordinator).
The attendance of the various heads of the departments in the Technical Working Group also made the event more significant and learning-filled experience.
The workshop focused on Gender Mainstreaming for various assessments of policies and programs for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020 as well as recording accomplishment reports for 2017. With the guidance of the trainer, an effective GAD plan was generated and effort for a more Harmonized Gender and Development Guide was substantiated through outputs.
JHMC continually trains its personnel to better serve its stakeholders as well as to efficiently deliver public service.
