The National Book Development Board (NBDB) with the provincial government of Benguet and the municipal government of Kapangan opened a new reading and learning space for all readers. Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas represented by Provincial Administrator Brian Camhit and Book Nook Project Area Coordinator Claire Prudencio with Vice Governor Johnny Waguis represented by Peter Guibac and Kapangan officials led by Mayor Manny Fermin and Vice Mayor Mayo Eslay led the ribbon cutting and turn over ceremony to formally launch the Book Nook project at the Municipal Hall compound in Lomon, Paykek in Kapangan, Benguet on Monday, December 20, 2021.
The Book Nook project is an initiative of the NBDB to help provide friendly reading spaces in areas where there are limited access to reading materials and the internet. Kapangan is among the 52 identified project sites provided with an indigenous and remote reading spaces.
