LT Trading Post revenue collection up in 2018

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Revenue collection from La Trinidad Trading Post for CY 2018 soared to P54,033,686.38, according to municipal treasurer Wilma Lintan.
Lintan attributed the significant increase in revenue collection mainly on the passage of the town’s new tax code where rental fees being collected from stall owners and traders went up.
She added that in 2017, revenue collection from the decades old vegetable trading post was P32.376 million versus the P26.144 million posted in 2016.
In a related development, the municipal council has appropriated an initial P34 million for the rehabilitation and improvement of the vegetable trading post.
With this development, Mayor Romeo Salda vowed to improve the trading post. “It is one of our major economic enterprises and through the years it has lifted our town’s economy,” Salda said.
Salda added that the revenue collection from the trading post has lessened his town’s dependency on Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) from the national government.
