LU to join Philippines’ largest travel expo

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, LA UNION – As tourism continues to be one of the best-positioned economic drivers towards inclusive socio-economic growth, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III is set to participate the upcoming 29th Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) on August 31 to September 2, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
The Province of La Union will take spotlight among the hundreds of exhibitors in this largest and longest-running travel expo in the country.
In this year’s PTM, the province is entitled to a Pavilion booth space for three days in La Union’s destinations, products, events, and services to target visitors wherein La Union’s agri-tourism destinations will be highlighted in support of Gov. Pacoy’s vision for La Union to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
PTM is an annual travel expo organized by the Philippine Tour Operators Association with the support of the Department of Tourism. It lets everyone experience the Philippines and ASEAN in one big exhibition hall showcasing and promoting quality destinations and featuring 5,000 products from all over the Philippines. It also includes direct meeting with the potential clients (local corporate and foreign tour operators) at the show floor and colorful cultural events with participants from the different regions in the country.
Members from the various tourism organizations in the province such as La Union Alliance of Travel and Tour Agencies (LUATTA), La Union Tourism Officers Association (LUTOA), La Union Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants Association (LUHRRA), Association of Tour Guides in La Union (AsTG-LU) and Association of Tourism Industries and Networks (ATIN) in the City of San Fernando, La Union will reinforce PGLU contingents to man the pavilion and help market La Union as one of the top tourist destinations in the country.
