P62.12M cannabis seized from 15 plantations in Tinglayan, Kalinga

La Trinidad, Benguet (August 5, 2021)— Authorities discovered 310,600 fully-grown marijuana worth P62.12M from 15 plantation sites in Tinglayan, Kalinga on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In Barangay Loccong, operatives discovered a total of 82,000 MJ plants worth P16,400,000.00 in seven (7) marijuana plantation sites, while a total of 228,600 MJ plants worth P45,700,200.00 were destroyed in eight plantation sites with an estimated land area of 25,300 square meters in Barangay Butbut.
Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee claimed all discovered cannabis were burned and uprooted on-site, while investigation was launched to catch the cultivators of the plantations.
