Woman killed as SUV plunges into Mt. Province ravine

BAGUIO CITY(April 30, 2022)— A woman was declared dead-on-arrival moments after the SUV she was riding with six others dived into a ravine after smashing another vehicle along the national road in Barangay Bayyo, Bontoc, Mountain Province capital, Friday afternoon.

Charity Vicente, 54, from Silang, Cavite, died at the hospital while her companions riding at the Mitsubishi Montero SUV are still at the hospital where they were rushed after they were taken out from the 60-meter deep ravine.

Police said the Sagada, Mt. Province-bound Black Mitsubishi Montero SUV driven by Hector Araňa, 64,  from Montalban, Rizal was traversing the Bontoc-Ifugao road when it smashed into a Blue Toyota Tamaraw FX AUV on the opposite lane.

The Banaue-bound AUV was driven by Jocel Ducammol Cutting, 36, from View Point, Banaue, Ifugao.

Upon impact, Araña lost control of the SUV and plunged into the ravine.
