Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center

The significant increase of vegetables being traded at the Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC) has driven more farmers, buyers, market facilitators, packers and porters from the different wholesale market sites to transact at the Center. Not to mention the people who initiated the trading, transactions made a breaking record on June 7, 2017. The peak of trading hours materialize in the morning with at least 30 truckers at successive loading and an average of 60 farmers’ trucks. The Center, however, can accommodate about 400 trucks in full parking. A recorded sum of 2,703,036 kilograms transacted in the morning shows an incredible increase of 203 percent from June 1-21, 2017 compared to the transactions for the whole month of May 2017 which was 890, 262.00 kilograms. Moreover, no trading fees collected and accreditation of farmers and traders are free. BAPTC-COO Dr. Violeta B. Salda, Accreditation Officer and OIC-TPOD Managing Director Mildred Licangan.
