CDH visits bedridden senior citizens

CABA, La Union – Caba District Hospital (CDH) conducted a Home Visit Community Outreach Program at Barangays Liquicia and San Fermin in Caba, La Union as part of its Senior Citizen Program and hospital brand which is focused on Care of the Elderly on March 29, 2019.
With the assistance of the Senior Citizen Presidents of said barangays, a total of six bedridden senior citizens were visited in their homes.
Free medical check-up with free medicines, distribution of information education materials and gift giving were done.
During the medical consultation, Hospital Chief Gretchen F. Aromin informed the family members about the common challenges and health risks of bedridden patients like pressure sores or ulcers, constipation, stiffness, recurrent urinary tract infection, and depression.
She also provided tips for the family members to prevent and manage those risks. Home Visit Community Outreach Program is a monthly activity of CDH to reach out to the elderlies as a way of giving back to the community, true to CDH’s hospital brand “Service with Compassion” and to achieve the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU’s) vision for Happy La Union and Healthy La Union by 2022.
