District I hosts Pasadang Pambarangay
The Pasadang Pambarangay program of the Office of the City Mayor thru its Special Services Division was conducted this Friday at the covered court of Pacdal Barangay with two hundred seventy seven beneficiaries from the five barangays comprising District I.
The start of the program proper was initiated by Mr. Noel Mabutas, Community Affairs Officer IV and head of the Special Services Division who informed the resident beneficiaries of the various free services which they can avail thru the Pasadang Pambarangay to include the following: free medical check-up with Janet Hidalgo and Jennifer Salinas of the Pacdal Health Center and Mines View Health Center respectively, information services from Philhealth through Ms. Rebecca Buendia and Marilyn Talabon, business information services from Ralph Altiyen of the Department of Trade and Industry, safety and precautionary information services from MJ Gas Corporation/Solane thru Mr. John Dipasupil and Marlon Ecoa, Blood typing and blood donation/bloodletting services with the Philippine Red Cross-Baguio City thru Ms. Mary Anne Pedregosa, information on human rights and other related services with the Commission on Human Rights represented by Atty. Mary Grace Valdez, information services on technology from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), free optical services and consultation with Optometrician Dra. Cynthia Salinas, free reflexology services with Ms. Edith Sagamped, free family planning services with representatives Ms. Annie Galingan, Ms. Beth B. Viduya and McAllister Payemyem, Analyn Binalla, Melba Afable, Ana Loida Malubay and free medical services and diagnoses with prescription from Dra. Anna Mae Mendoza of the Philippine Women’s Medical Association and other volunteers, as well as the DZEQ Radyo Pilipinas under the able leadership of its Station Manager Andrei Amadeo.
Mr. Mabutas also acknowledged the cooperation and participation of the five barangays of District I represented by their Punong Barangays and their Kagawads which comprise Punong Barangay Roberto Mendoza of Pacdal Barangay, Punong Barangay Ricardo Mendoza of Pucsusan Barangay, Punong Barangay Eduard Aclopen of Gibraltar Barangay, Punong Barangay Bonifacio Duques of Mines View Barangay and Punong Barangay Conchita Rillera of St. Joseph Barangay.
The Pasadang Pambarangay which is a special program of the Office of the City Mayor thru its Special Services Division has the objective of implementing direct and immediate delivery of basic services to the various barangays in the City of Baguio and caters to residents who are mostly less privileged in life and who need the attention of the city government.
The City Mayor Honorable Mauricio Domogan had previously confirmed in an earlier ceremony to recognize the partners of the Pasadang Pambarangay that the program has been effectively sustained for more than 20 years with the help and cooperation of the partner agencies and offices as well as the numerous volunteers that have provided their free services to the community. The City Mayor likewise noted in that recognition ceremony that the effective conduct and successful implementation of the pasadang pambarangay is because of the help and cooperation of its partners as well as the institutionalization of the activity and that thru it a great many people in the city have benefited from it.
