Four nabbed with drugs, guns, ammos in La Union

SAN JUAN, La Union – Police on drug operation here are encountered gun fires through four individual suspects which they arrested in a buy-bust and warrant implementation at Romans Inn, Barangay Urbiztondo Wednesday morning (Nov. 25, 2020) here.
One of the four suspects identified as Christian C. Rivera, 29, resident of Parian, San Fernando City, La Union who was listed as a top 1 wanted in city level which issued a search warrant RA 9165 with criminal Criminal Case No. 13725 issued by Hon. Victor O. Conception, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 66, San Fernando City, La Union.
Rivera was also identified as the leader of Rivera Drug Group operating in Region 1 and was a subject of manhunt operations.
Other arrested suspects identified Harvey Munar Singson, 40, an auto mechanic and residents of Pagpandayan, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur; Medrick Arafiles Dela Cruz, 21, resident of Tamag, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur; and a female service crew Michelle Leria Luken, 23, resident of Sevilla, San Fernando City, La Union.
In the police encounter, one of suspect Singson was allegedly fired his firearm to some police officers including the leading team unit San Juan Police Chief PCpt. Gerardo Macaraeg, Jr. who was almost got shot in the operation, prompting his policemen to fire back, but luckily no one has reported injured or casualties were incurred.
Seized from them are 20 grams of alleged shabu with DDB Value of Php. 136,000, various types of firearms such as two Uzi, a 357 revolver, four caliber 22 pistols with magazine, 9mm pistol loaded into six ammunitions, two 45 calibers with magazine and ammos, 1 grenade, other several magazines and ammos.
Some of confiscated items are shabu paraphernalia’s, three hand held radio’s, 6 cellphones. Joint operatives who conducted the said buy-bust operation were composed of personnel from San Juan Municipal Police Station, La Union Provincial Intelligence Unit, PDEARO1, SWAT LUPPO, RMFB1, MARPTSA, RID, and LUPMFC.
In the other hand, according to the police, the suspect Rivera was alleged behind the murder of a 22-year-old employee of the Philippine Statistic Authority Region 1 as Enumerator (PSA enumerator) who was shot dead at Pagdaraoan, San Fernando City, La Union last October 10.
